Teasers and Top Tens for 12/8

Teaser Tuesday New
Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm. Here are the rules if you want to play along:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

“May I introduce you all to the main course?” Morpheus spreads out an arm with dramatic flair. “Dinner, meet your worthy adversaries, the hungry guests.”

Splintered by A.G. Howard

Yes, I am re-reading Splintered instead of reading the books I need to be reading right now. I’ve even already read it this year, so it’s not going towards by GoodReads goal. I can’t help it! I love this book so much!

Top Ten New-To-Me Favorite Authors I Read For The First Time In 2015

I like these end-of-year topics. It’s nice to look back and see what cool new authors I’ve discovered. The funny thing is that this year, I’ve been really trying to complete old series that I started previously, so I haven’t read ten new authors. Here’s who I have read.

  1. M.J. Fletcher – I discovered this author when I got his book The Doorknob Society for free off of BookBub. It led me to getting the next four books right after because they were awesome.
  2. Christie Anderson – Another BookBub discovery, I read her Water Keepers series very quickly. The book covers in particular are gorgeous, but the story is pretty good too.
  3. Rainbow Rowell – I was so happy to finally read Rainbow Rowell this year. I had seen her at YallFest these past few years and really liked her. Eleanor & Park was an absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking read.
  4. John Scalzi – I always enjoyed Scalzi’s Twitter and blog posts, but this year I finally read one of his books. Redshirts is a really funny book, and a must read for Star Trek fans.
  5. April Genevieve Tucholke – I read her book, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, for the Bibliophiles Anonymous podcast. I haven’t gotten to read the next book yet, but I’m definitely going to.
  6. Rachel Vincent – I read the first book of the Soul Screamers series for the podcast as well, and of course, I had to immediately finish it as quickly as possible. I highly recommend them.
  7. K.J. Colt – Another BookBub find! I got her book, Concealed Power, from Bookbub, and then bought the rest of the series. Getting these free books is not always a good thing when it forces you to buy a bunch of other books!
  8. Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner – I first saw These Broken Stars and fell head over heels in love with the cover. It’s a really good book, but I liked the second book even more. The third book just came out! I needs it!

There are my teasers and top tens! Please leave yours in comments!
